The Association of Asian Election Authorities (AAEA) during its General Assembly being held in Delhi from 29th of October, 2014 elected Bhutan on the Executive Board

The Association of Asian Election Authorities (AAEA) during its General Assembly being held in Delhi from 29th of October, 2014 elected Bhutan on the Executive Board along-with the Central Election Commission of Mongolia and NEC of Republic of Korea with the Election Commission of India as the Chair and Election Management Body of the Philippines as the Vice Chair. It is attended by 13 Election Management Bodies of Asia.

 

The General Assembly also endorsed the amendment of the Charter to reduce the meeting cycle and term of office bearers to two years from three years.

 

Election Commissioner Chogyal Dago Rigdzin with the Dzongkhag Electoral Officer of Dzongkhag Administration, Thimphu Choni Dorji has attended the Assembly at the invitation of the Chief Election Commissioner of India Shri V. S. Sampath.

 

The next General Assembly will be hosted by Philippines in 2016.
