Pursuant to Section 457 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, the Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB) hereby declares the result of the Bye-Election conducted to fill the vacant post of the Gup of Lingmukha Gewog under Punakha Dzongkhag.
Mr. Kinley Tenzin, holdingCID No. 11006000011, hailing from Dompala Chiwog, has been successfully elected to the above-mentioned post during the poll held on April 16, 2026.
In terms of the overall voter turnout, of the 1318 registered eligible voters (M= 643 & F= 675), 629 (EVM: 493 & Postal Ballot: 136) cast their votes on the poll day with overall voter turnout at 47.72%.

It is hereby being notified that as per Section 580 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, the member elected shall only serve for the remainder of his/her predecessor’s term of office.
The public and all stakeholders may note that the Election Petition Period of 10 days for this Bye-Election starts today and ends at 5 p.m. on April 30, 2026.
