The Election Commission of Bhutan, under Section 457 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, hereby notifies the general public that Mr Jamyang and Ms Chencho Wangmo have been successfully elected as the Gup for Samkhar Gewog and Gewog Tshogde Tshogpa for in Guma_Wolakha Chiwog respectively with the polls held on 3 rd of December 2018.
The overall Voter Turnout was 42.24 % with 1792 Voters, out of the total 4242 Registered Voters, turning out to cast their votes. Of the total votes cast, 945 votes were cast in person on the Electronic Voting Machine in the polling station in the chiwog and 847 votes through Postal Ballot.
It is also hereby being notified that a member elected to fill a casual vacancy shall only serve for the remainder of the predecessor’s term of office as per the Section 580 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008.
The general public is hereby informed that the Election Petition Period starts from 4 th of December 2018 and shall end at 4 P.M. on 18 th of December 2018.
