Issuance of the Final Electoral Roll for the Bye-Elections in Monggar and Nganglam National Assembly Demkhongs under Monggar and Pema Gatshel Dzongkhags, 2021

The Election Commission of Bhutan, pursuant to Notification ECB/NOTIF-01/2021/4557 dated 21st May, 2021 and as required under Section 118 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, is pleased to hereby issue the Final Electoral Roll for the Monggar and Nganglam National Assembly Demkhongs under Monggar and Pema Gatshel Dzongkhags.

The Final Electoral Roll, after due incorporation of changes from the Dzongkhags during the “Claims and Objections” period from 21st to 31st May, 2021, has a total of 18,500 voters of which 8,828 are males and 9,672 are females as on 1st April 2021, the qualifying date for the Bye-Elections in Monggar and Nganglam National Assembly Demkhongs under Monggar and Pema Gatshel Dzongkhags, 2021.

The Demkhong-wise breakup of the Electoral Roll is as follows:

Out of the total registered voters in the two Demkhongs, 5,515 have opted to vote through conventional Postal Ballot while 433 voters have registered for Mobile Voting Booth. The Mobile Voting Booth is being extended to the voters above 65 years and voters with disabilities in order to mitigate the risks related to COVID-19 local transmission.

An individual voter can check his/her voter registration status and information about Polling Station on the website of the Election Commission of Bhutan: www.ecb.bt under Check your Enrollment link using the Citizenship Identity Card Number and Date of Birth to avail access.

The Electoral Roll can be inspected at the respective Dzongkhag Election Offices, the Offices of the Returning Officers and the Election Commission of Bhutan, Head Office, Kawajangsa, Thimphu.

Issued on the 21st Day of the 4th Month of the Female Iron Ox Year corresponding to 1st June 2021.
