The 5th Annual Conference of the Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB) is underway at the Great Fourth Auditorium, Democracy House, Kawangjangsa, with the theme “Mission 2018: Successful Third Parliamentary Elections” from 5th to 7th of June 2017.
The Conference is being presided by the Hon’ble Chief Election Commissioner and attended by the Election Commissioners, Secretary and all the officials from the Head Office and the 20 Dzongkhag Election Offices.
The following documents were released and launched at the opening session:
1. LEP 2016: Main Issues, Recommendations and Implementation Plan;
2. Report on the National Voter’s Day 2016; and
3. Compendium of Notifications, Press releases and other documents related to 2nd Local Government Elections 2016.
The main purpose of the Conference is to review together the various programmes being undertaken and prepare for the Parliamentary Elections 2018. It shall deliberate on implementation of feedbacks and recommendations received and discussed with different stakeholders during the Learning from Experience Programme (LEP) 2016 as well as on status of activities geared towards the upcoming Parliamentary Elections 2018.
Dzongkhag-wise stalls have been set up to further facilitate the customization of the programmes with the Dzongkhag specificities and coordination between Dzongkhags and Head Quarter for the successful conduct of Parliamentary Elections 2018.
